GROUND BEAMS

As well as being a specialist piling contractor we are able to offer a packaged solution and incorporate the reinforced concrete ground beams.

Ground beams are structural elements that are designed to link piles together and transfer load. They are constructed from concrete and steel reinforcement and provide a platform for further superstructure construction, in brickwork, blockwork or timber frame.

Once the piles have cured the beam locations are excavated, former's are placed around the excavation with steel reinforcement placed and tied into the steel reinforcement of the piles.

The excavation is then filled with concrete completing the construction of the ground beams, once the concrete has cured typically 3-5 days it is ready for follow on trades to take the building or structure out of the ground.

Ground beams are typically a bespoke design and the size required will be dependent on the structure you intend to build, they are typically between 400mm-600mm wide.
